Stop the War on Wolves!
W.O.L.F. Fundraising || February 8, 2017.
Within the past few days, two bills have been passed: the H.R. 424 and S. 164. These two bills have been called the War on Wolves, for they are stripping the wolves off of the Endangered Species List. According to Wayne Pacelle, writer for Alternet, the last time "the federal government delisted wolves in 2012... trophy hunters and trappers... killed nearly a quarter of Minnesota's wolves", which could mean the destruction of the wolf population. When this happened, "humans killed nearly one in every five wolves in Wisconsin..., including 17 entire family units". These family units did not stop at adults, but "half of the wolves killed in that state's first season were pups".
These animals help the ecosystem thrive by controlling the other inhabitants of the area, from the amount of elk to the salmon in the rivers (click on this article to learn more). With their disappearance could lead to the destruction of the ecosystems that thrive because of these wolves that live there. The War on Wolves must stop now before it is too late. Please spread the word about these new acts so more people are aware of this terrible issue. Another act that contributes to the war on wolves has been approved by both the House of Representatives and the Senate. This act, the H.J. Res 69, is allowing for the arial hunting of wolves (from helicopters) and the murdering of wolf pups in Alaska. This law will allow hunters to enter wolf dens and kill defenseless, innocent pups in their own homes.
